Married to Trela Cook since March of 1985

Two adult children, a daughter-in-law and one grandchild

"In addition to the projects below, it's a true joy that our outreach extends to me serving as a "Regional Elder" for about 40 ministers in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in central Arkansas.  I am also able to preach at our denomination's churches when they need me.  Through it all, serving in all these ways is an amazing gift and blessing that I'm grateful for each day."

2016 Outreach Projects Include:

  • Funded a Delta Rape Crisis Center in Helena/W Helena, Arkansas through the Arkansas Coalition Against Sexual Assault

  • Funded a major renovation project at the C.A. Vines 4-H Center in Ferndale, Arkansas

  • Donated a stable to Beyond Boundaries Equine Assisted Therapy Center in Lonoke County, Arkansas

  • Purchased a 63-passenger bus for Khayelihle Children’s Village in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe

  • Scholarships to ministers of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) for theological education

  • Scholarship to Bethany Fellowship leadership mentoring ministry for young pastors of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)

  • Funded equipment purchase for a children’s exercise program hosted by First Christian Church in Sherwood, Arkansas  

  • Scholarships for needy youth of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) to attend church camp

  • Various means of support to the Great River Region of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) 

  • Sponsored a seminar on New Testament Interpretation for ministers and church leaders of the Great River Region of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)

  • Purchased a copy of The People’s New Testament Commentary by M. Eugene Boring and Fred B. Craddock for all ministers of the Great River Region of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)

  • Financial support to the Cabot United Methodist Church’s Annual Community Christmas Feast for needy families

  • Financial support to bring Dr. Diana Butler Bass, specialist in American Religion and Culture, to a two-day speaking event in central Louisiana

  • Financial support to fundraising event for “Community Connections” of central Arkansas

  • Sent supplies to First Christian Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, for distribution to the victims of Baton Rouge's massive flooding event
